Micro Galleries are alternative venues that exist in public places where artists can exhibit their art at no cost.
There are currently 33 micro galleries (small free-standing art galleries) spread across Long Beach, CA. These include those built by Dave and Carol Clark, along with two that existed prior to theirs – Black Box and The Mantel Gallery. These are all listed, along with three others that are installed outside of Long Beach, here in the Micro Galleries of Long Beach’s website.

At a time of dwindling support for public arts and artists, these micro galleries have created neighborhood art districts, providing places to show art work while also generating new forms of cultural engagement.
